Steps in Guided Discovery approach to Grammar

  1. The teacher exposes the students to the language through examples.
  2. The teacher guides the observation and analysis of the language by drawing attention to the significant points he/she wants to present.
  3. The teacher uses the information discovered from step 2 to state the grammar rule, or to get the learners to state the grammar rule.
  4. The teacher has students apply the rule utilizing practice tasks and progressing to more difficult production tasks.

Grammar Sequencing

Our curriculum has a thought out approach to introducing Grammar within our text books. We have a a grammar sequencing that outlines which grammar points are introduced at each level: beginners, intermediate, and advanced.
