An approach to teaching language that emphasizes communication as both the means and the goal of language learning. .
The goal is for our students to be able to communicate with Tunisians in real situations in daily life. The main goal is not to pass a test, have perfect grammar, or be able to read a Nageeb Mahfouz novel.
Real communication set in a cultural context.
Language connected to a story.
A conversation about a particular subject or task----not just a list of random sentences
Our tutors are like a football coach: We want to equip students with communication skills then create lots of opportunities for practice.
Activities where the student has to talk about themselves.
Role play activities to mimic real life situations.
Opportunities for dialogue created to exchange information.
According to thought behind Communicative Language Teaching, language is mainly a skill that must be developed, not simply information that can be learned. Language has to be nurtured and used versus sitting and memorizing a list of information.
